A festival of brutality

Guitarrock

Nile...what else to say. Their combination of utter deathmetal violence and ancient egyptian mythos finds new life (or death) in their new opus kindly on offer on emusic. Marvel at the level of aggression, the take no prisoners approach to sonic destruction that Nile choose to bestow upon us. Truly a soundtrack to a slave onslaught happened 2500 years ago. As another reviewer justly invoked, may Nile's music disperse emo/screamo kids and the mtv generation (and please take away grunge music as well since we are at it).

crushing metal

soulfly149

my god waht can u say, other then this album crushes your brain, after the skull has been destroyed. musically it left me dumbfounded. nile always seems to bring it.total destruction. can't wait to see them blow the minds of the emo kids at ozzfest. hopefully the flesh from their painted faces will melt off from such beautiful display of carnage. great songs and long song titles. possibly a choice from death metal album of the year.

Neither Norway: Black Death and Afterlife

By Lenny Kaye, eMusic Contributor

I was warned. "Watch out for the death metal," said my muso friends when I told them I was off to the wilds of Norway for a rock festival - as if I could somehow be mortally wounded by shards of satanic shrapnel. But when I arrived in Bergen, on the west coast of the country, supposedly the wettest place in Europe with over 200 days of rain each year, the sun shone brightly and… more »
