NOFX’s Regaining Unconsciousness EP is a teaser for the War on Errorism LP. The three album tracks included are effective slices of hook-heavy California hardcore, colored with NOFX’s particular brand of snide, clowning social and political commentary. The self-explanatory blast “Hardcore 84″ rounds out the set. But for the list price of just five dollars, the best reason to buy this EP is the bonus track. A hilarious send-up of those late-night “$18.95 + $5.95 shipping and handling” ads for back-catalog classic rock compilations, the clip features El Hefe promoting his guitar solos on War on Errorism with actual sound clips from the LP.
