Smiths meet Gene

This is really a fantastic album -- yes, it sounds almost criminally like the Smiths (you may spot a guitar riff lifted here and there), but it's damn fine music. More More damn it! I'd say the lead singer sounds like a cross between Morrissey and the singer from Gene. Emusic -- get on the ball and get the two earlier EPs too.

When is a band WAY TOO MUCH like the Smiths? I think these guys are alright... I think The Smiths are better than Christmas... this band is not The Smiths... but holy Mary does this album sound like they want to be.

This album is incredible, very Smiths-like. "When Goodness Falls" is my favorite so far. The lyrics have that classic Morrissey-an wit to them.

Undertones of the Smiths

Morrissey's love-child with Feargal Sharkey on vocals. Maybe even the Talk Talk guy dropped in for sloppy seconds ... still dreamy indie post 80's pop. Likable.
