The best since their first 2 albums

somnebulist

I had the first stateside release, which contained an extended 'suite' version of The Box on the bonus disc. Sadly, it was stolen, and the replacement (a reprint) had the lineup you see here. This is brilliant material, but if you are ever so lucky, try to get your ears on the other version of the album.

In Sides The Box

Always loved this album since it first came out. The Box is a masterpiece. Put this album on when you want to get something done. This version has 2 hours of music for 12 credits. If you like 90s electronic music and don't have this... just get it.

Out There Somewhere 2 is like being at Disney World while having a 13 minute orgasm. I dig the "Ren and Stimpy" album art.

A Mixed Bag

Shinzakura

Not one of their greatest, but a strong album nonetheless and worth a listen or twelve. For those wanting a view of what the band's output is like, this isn't really it, but for those well familiar with the Hartnoll brothers, it's one to add to the collection.

I agree with the reviewer below that this is Orbital's best album.

Yes, it is

It is not the first time I completely disagree with All Music Guide. Their reviews are usually bad and their reviewers incompetent, in my opinion. For me, it is Orbital's best and most accomplished album. One of the best electronic albums ever. The original album has only the first 8 tracks. Songs 9-13 appeared on the bonus CD of the US edition.

Who Is…Lone

By Michelangelo Matos, eMusic Contributor

The most alluring dance music of the 21st century sounds a hell of a lot like the early part of the last decade of the 20th. There are many reasons for this, but maybe the biggest is Matt Cutler, the Nottingham-bred producer who calls himself Lone. He emerged in the late '00s as one of a long line of laptop-IDM producers with a J Dilla fixation. But 2008's Lemurian, his first release of note, is… more »

They Say All Music Guide

In Sides isn’t Orbital’s best album, or their most accomplished, but it is the most definitive. It pulses with the energy of the debut, the lush flow of the second, and the conceptual theme of Snivilisation. The focus this time, though, is ecology. “The Girl With the Sun in Her Head” was recorded on a Greenpeace bus using only solar power, and “Dwr Budr” (Welsh for “dirty water”) also criticizes the misuse of natural resources. Phil and Paul’s respect for the jungle/drum’n'bass movement showed in the moderate breakbeat rhythms on several tracks. [One of the American releases of In Sides added a bonus disc including "The Saint" single.] – John Bush
