Our Lady of the Highway, Kill You With Numbers
Label: FogSnob Records

Combining singer-songwriter earnestness with indie rock bite, Our Lady of the Highway write songs with their hearts on their sleeves and their amps on 10. Kill You With Numbers is a tender, timorous recollection of bad breakups, old friends, bum deals and wrong turns, all of them set over tense guitar strums and bare, dry percussion.

Callow and self-indulgent

Paddletune

Musically, these tunes are listenable enough and well performed, if derivative. But lyrically, they're barely a step above the maudlin, navel-gazing, self-pitying lucubrations of your typical hypersensitive 10th grader.

I think I heard this at a party at Dov Charney's place.

Fine Record

JetsetPete

OLOTH just keeps getting better. This record has a nicely expanded sonic palette that serves the band well. A bit more upbeat than "About Leaving" and tad more accomplished than "Beauty Won't Save Us", this is the sound of a band hitting its stride and it sounds pretty great.

if you like sad bastard bar stool music

padamfarrell

these guys have been around SF forever and it's great to see them getting some love. if you like American Music Club, The Mountain Goats or anything by Kozelek....you will dig their tunes. really unpredictable stuff with synths and jangly guitars that give it almost a post-college rock feel. really enjoyable!
