Yes, Keith Jarrett

I agree with the other reviewer, fitterstoke45. Keith Jarrett's oeuvre is all over the place on emusic. See him working under such aliases as Sam Rivers and Jack deJohnette, too, where two of my favourite Jarrett albums can be found here. Once you download these to ITunes or whatever it's hell to unravel these errors of attribution. It's inexcusable in the popular music idioms - more understandable with Classical music, where attribution by composer, conductor, soloists etc. is difficult. And don't get me started on the catch-all "Alternative/Punk" category, to which it sometimes seems that emusic chucks about half its catalogue....

Keith Jarrett, actually!

Another instance of eMusic's weird foible of attributing albums to collaborators rather than the main artistes, this is a fine (if rather glassy sounding) live record of a sadly short-lived quartet that now reads as something of an ECM supergroup. Buy this after the two ace studio albums 'Belonging' and 'My Song', essential Jarrett albums both.

They Say All Music Guide

There is a lot of music on this set, including the 30-minute “Oasis.” This is a Live at the Village Vanguard recording by pianist Keith Jarrett and his European quartet (Jan Garbarek on soprano and tenor, bassist Palle Danielsson and drummer Jon Christensen). The pianist very much dominates the music but Garbarek’s unique floating tone on his instruments and the subtle accompaniment by Danielsson and Christensen are also noteworthy. – Scott Yanow
