Discovered her at Merlefest

rickymark

Last year at Merlefest Robert Plante was the big closing act and he performed with some "back-up" singer that I started paying more and more attention to. She didn't get much solo time, but when she did, it was clear that she was co-equal with Plant in power and emotion, and a lot prettier---and i promptly downloaded this album. When It Don't Come Easy is one of the best lovesongs I've heard in a long time.

Some repeats, but all good stuff!

Alrow

Patty Griffin has one of those voices that I never tire of listening to. Although there are quite a few repeats on this album, you expect that on a live recording. It is all good stuff anyway. She puts her best into every song. Let us have some more.

Great Singer!

madformusic

Patty joins a short list of favorites I thought would go on to sell millions of records: Marshall Crenshaw, Squeeze, Nick Lowe, Steve Earle and John Hiatt. Not bad company to be in. Shame more people aren't aware of her.

PBS Special

This was on PBS a few months back. She played in an old church with some tremendous musicians. Terrific performance. I don't think anyone has a finer voice!

Patty Griffin Is A Treasure

Palomino-Royalle

She has an amazing voice, and she writes brilliant songs. If there were any justice in the world, Patty Griffin would be a *huge* star. This album would make a great introduction, if you need one. If you're a fan, it is still essential.

BEST VOICE!

EMUSIC-1967

Patty has the best voice in all of music today. She reminds me of Emmylou Harris(who appears on her albums) The voice of an angel. I can listen to her for hours. Get all of her cds here on Emusic!

Up to speed

Patty Griffin is truly an engaging artist and this release is a shining example. Her broad spectrum of subject and style are most evident when heard "live" and has been captured at the Artists Den.

Finest singer/songwriter in the world

EMUSIC-0109948D

No-one writes songs like Patty Griffin. Precious few singers can match the purity of her vocals. This is a wonderful live recording by an artist who moves, enchants and simply towers over the competition. Beautiful.
