Ignore the "official" review
This and Control are the high-water mark of Pedro's run -- and wherein Ugly Dave Bazan begins taking center stage. Another concept album, this time about the rise and fall of a “righteous” man, and the fall and fall of his “failure” brother, replete with politics, spousal abuse and murder, which crescendos with the absolutely terrifying “A Mind of Her Own,” wherein the tie-in between pride and domestic violence hasn’t been this palpable since Lou Reed’s Berlin. Ignore to yr own detriment.
