Great music, but the rest is lousy!

alfa10

Great music! - Lousy quality! 4 stars for the music, 1 star for the rest. Spotlite should be ashamed to offer such a product in this condition especially because it was produced by Tony Williams (the owner) and recorded; September 10, 1973, EMI Studios, Machester Square, London

Poor Sound Quality, with LP scratch noises

sowhatkaz

The music contained here is a great treasure for all jazz listeners, which has been applauded since the LP was released in 1973, and I recommend to any who loves small combo's cooking session with a big confidence. These four guys are the pick-up members of the famous Thad-Mel Orchestra in its peak. However, the scratch noise found in almost each 10 seconds of all tracks is clear evidence that the tracks presented here by eMusic are taken from the LP in the bad condition with analog technique. It is a shame that eMusic does not indicate that. If these are 1930-40 recording, I will somewhat take it for granted that some niose is heard, but these are 70's recordings and it is not accepable that the tracks was not directly remastered from the original tapes. If you love or don't mind scratch noises of LP's, it's fine. Download it. But if not, don't. You'd be disapponted much.
