Under my skin

CollectedSounds

That tinkly playful piano that opens the disc gets me every time. Then when the rest of the instruments come crashing in I almost get chills. You can’t not feel joy when hearing this. It’s not a happy song (“I’ll make you love me then I’ll leave you all alone…”) but it sounds joyful. I love that disparity. This album has gotten under my skin. In such a good way

Three for three

While Petracovich abandons some of the low-fi atmospheric charm that made the first two albums so addictive, Crepusculo showcases her obvious songwriting chops and her most soaring vocals to date. The album has a fully realized organic sound which at times is hushed and melancholy and at other times flirts with both chamber-pop (big, rollicking pianos) and folk (banjo). No filler here, but standouts include San Rafael, You Are This Perfect and The Boy Who Was Caught. Highly recommended.

The Portland Mercury - LOVED IT

EMUSIC-00D1397B

"Don't overlook the marvelous piano pop of Santa Rosa, California's Petracovich. Led by the sparkling songwriting and voice of Jessica Peters, Crepusculo (which was recorded in Portland) is absolutely wonderful, each song a delicate delight. Peters infuses every song with both power and pulsating beauty; she was pregnant while she recorded Crepusculo, and the expectant joy is evident in every note." NED LANNAMANN
