New age?

RogerEllisB

It tickles me to see this album classified as New Age. Phil Keaggy is a renowned Christian songwriter and performer. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was Eric Clapton who once said he wished he could play like Phil Keaggy. One thing I like about this album is it's substantially different from the original Master & the Musician album. I like playing them in sequence.

"New Age" Keaggy

MrE

The mood is subdued. The guitar playing is understated, but uniformly lovely. The guitars are adorned with percussion, strings, and the occasional keyboard. Cooler and deeper than typical new age or smooth jazz (though both genres might claim this album for themselves), the album is background music. Though fine background music.
