mix of beautiful and cheesy
This piece comes from a transition time in Glass's composing period, between the minimalist 70s to the lush 90s, and is akin in tone to Koyaanisqatsti. It contains some throughly beautiful melodies and sounds, but also a rather insane level of synthesizer that grates on my ears in some pieces. I've loved the album since I first heard it, lost my copy of it years and years ago, and just got it again. Very happy to have it, but yeah, those synths, those are from the 80s, alright.

I have been listening to this album for about fifteen years and I'm still not tired of it.I'm very happy to see that emusic has added more from this composer.
