Hailing from Minneapolis, MN, Pictures of Then have clearly absorbed some of their hometown's indie-rock history, but also seem to have their sights set across the Atlantic — displaying an affinity for Brit-pop both old and new. Their sophomore record, And The Wicked Sea, arrives on the heels of appearances on MTV's Choose or Lose tour and placements on The Real World and The Hills — which serve as good indications of the extremely accessible nature of their brand of pop/rock. Picture of Then's songs may be commercial, but they’re certainly not lacking in strong songwriting or memorable hooks.
