Made to vibrate endorphins into your brain

DavyChuck

Very cool avant-garde house tracks from the Early Nineties. Awsome deep beats, guaranteed to up your endorphins, baby. Most of these tracks were also known as the Ultradrug LP and on an earlier faux compilation. Gen P-Oridge studied proprietary data from the public relations/propaganda industry. It is known that certain types of music, certain tones, certain sounds cause physiological reactions. Musak is programmed, for example to make you linger and buy stuff. White noise in the office is to make you feel all womb-y and stuff so you'll feel happy at work. This stuff excites your imagination and libido. Makes you want to think and party at the same time. It's good and it's good for you.

They Say All Music Guide

The two-disc Origin of the Species, Vol. 2 rescues a sizable number of Psychic TV house tracks from out-of-print obscurity. The first disc is drawn from the albums Jack the Tab: Acid Tablets, Vol. 1 (1988) and Tekno Acid Beat (1989), while the second disc features the Ultradrug material issued in 1995. The Jack the Tab cuts are the most interesting, having been issued as a fake various-artists compilation and actually featuring Psychic TV working with former Soft Cell keyboardist Dave Ball and writer Richard Norris. Since the tracks here aren’t culled from as wide a variety of sources as the first volume of Origin of the Species, it isn’t quite as consistent a listen, but it does capture the group at their acid-house peak, and all of this material has been very difficult to find for a long time. – Steve Huey
