Mostly good

JetFred

Pushmonkey's self-titled album was stellar, I mean desert island quality. I don't know what idiot told them to keep pushing the nu metal crap, but it almost wrecks this album. You'd be better off just skipping "Fake" and "10,000 Miles". And please tell me that "I'm Down" is a joke, because I don't think a better parody of nu metal could be written. Besides that, I don't know what on earth they were going for with "Reason to Be Loved". That leaves 7 tracks that are pretty good and generally worth the download.

Thank you, Musicmatch Jukebox :)

I had 3 tracks from this album pre-loaded on my computer in Musicmatch's sample music folder. When I set the playlist on random, the track "Rescue Me" immediately impressed me, which prompted me to listen to the other tracks I had available: "Sorry" and "Lie to Me." Listening to these 3, accompanied with positive reviews from anyone who has ever heard Pushmonkey's music, solidified my decision to download the whole album, and it has not disappointed. All the songs are fantastic. I liken it to the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Californication" album, not in style, but in the fact that you can play it through without having to use the skip function on your CD/mp3 player. In the digital music era, where people are more likely to download only one or two songs from an artist to avoid wasting time and money on mediocre album-fillers, Pushmonkey continues to set itself above the trend. Obtaining the whole album is 11 allotted downloads well-spent!

The Perfect Alternative Rock Band?

ZakksCoffeehouse

Although it would be hard to beat their music while on ARISTA as far as creativity goes, they have managed to put out an even more radio friendly enticing sound for this cd while still keeping it fresh with the usual surprise genre bending tracks such as the hip hop flavored I'm Down and the almost beatlesque Reason To Be Loved.Don't fear they still have plenty of heaviness and anger left in tracks such as Fake.In my opinion as owner of an underground venue for over 10 years pushmonkey may even be the best overlooked alternative rock band in the country so if you're curious at all I'd highly recommend you check this band out!And they are also an excellent live act too.
