or do you just f..k around...one should ever exclude the other...but don't let this jewel escape. Just a few times or more will you ever hear this kind of talent lyrically...musically..and intellectually.

roy, take time to love, they say there's a time, dog days, take that ride. it's a great album. the lyrics are compelling and al cooper's keyboards are a nice touch as well as john prine singing on one song. the is truly a great album and mr morris is truly a great writer. trust me on this one.

Good CD that contains one standout track

Kez

If you download anything from this CD, it should be "Hell on a Poor Boy." What a song! Everytime I listen to it, I don't want it to end.

I picked up this album when it first came out.I bought it after seeing RB open up a live show for John Prine. It goes from nice rocking World owes me to a mournfull Pot Holed Street. Enjoy

They Say All Music Guide

Singer/songwriter R.B. Morris takes a strong step forward on this debut disc to take his share of the lead in what has been called the alternative country genre, although there’s a fair amount of rockin’ folk here. Morris wrote ten of the twelve songs, co-wrote one more, and does a smash-up version of Robert Mitchum’s “The Ballad of Thunder Road.” His band is solid behind him, especially the sparkling guitar work of Kenny Vaughan. Morris does a duet with John Prine on “Roy,” which cops its melody from one of Prine’s own songs, but it is well done. In addition, Al Kooper plays organ on a few songs, and the last cut is a bluegrass/country gospel tune on which Lucinda Williams sings backup. This is a good album with well-written, insightful songs, very good singing, and a sharp backing band that plays with élan at all times. – Bob Gottlieb
