Get the LP immediately. This is just a teaser. The minute I heard this band, it became a favorite.

Get This

bmax1001

Ra Ra Riot is a band full of great energy and originality, if you don't already have this ep, get it and wait for it to become one of your favorites. I've seen them twice and will soon be attending a third show. They have fun when they play and it's impossible not to jump around and have a great time at their shows. I can't wait for more from this band.

Just saw them open for Editors. Dare I say, as good if not better than the headliners.

Voxtrot-esque

Barblazeface

These guys are acquaintances of a buddy of mine, and they are on the right track as of now. Plagued by tragidy, the band is pushing on and recently signed to a label with an LP forthcoming. To me this is right on par with the indie pop of Voxtrot, another excellent band. Nice EP with a lower quality recording, but that lends to the originality of their sound I think.

Great band, plagued with tragedy

pistachionut

I don't know how many of the listeners of this band know this, but the Ra Ra Riot drummer, John Pike, recently passed away. All our wishes are with John's family and the band members.

Interview: Ra Ra Riot

By Kevin O'Donnell, eMusic Contributor

Ra Ra Riot were one of 2008's hottest indie-rock success stories: a preppy, college-educated sextet of friends who mixed gorgeous chamber-pop strings with tight, New Wave beats — think of them as a modern-day version of Fleetwood Mac. But Ra Ra Riot came close to falling apart: Just before releasing their debut, the band's founding drummer John Pike was found mysteriously dead in the waters of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, in June 2007. He was 22… more »

Who Are…Lost in the Trees

By Laura Leebove, Deputy Editor

Some indie rockers simply accent their songs with strings and horns, but Lost in the Trees's symphonic elements — along with frontman Ari Picker's acoustic guitar — serve as the foundation for the folk collective's second release, All Alone in an Empty House. Re-released by ANTI- with the vocals and nearly all the instrumentals re-recorded, Empty House is at times haunting, majestic, delicate, overwhelming and celebratory. With the whole work revolving mostly around Picker's family's… more »

Who Are…Ra Ra Riot

By J. Edward Keyes, Editor-in-Chief

The Statement-of-Purpose lyric comes late in the debut by New York quintet Ra Ra Riot — long after we've been through sluggish winters and drowned ghosts and trips to Gloucester. It's simple and direct, and repetition makes it stick: "We've got a lot to learn from each other, we have got to stick together." This is no idle sentiment. Over the course of a fistful of months, Ra Ra Riot went from whirlwind of hype to… more »
