An interesting case
Pandolfi; another little known but very good, very charming 18thC composer from Italy. I looked at this disc because I liked the cover artwork; a mosaic of semi-precious stones, typical of the Italian decorative fashions of that period and paralleled by a similar style of craftsmanship in India. Like the music, there is much more going on beneath the surface than first appears, and while I can't immediately put a name to the bird species (Bulbul?) it's civilised and attractive – just like the music, again.
