A Natural Genius...
...if he can stay creative and off the sauce.

Nasty, filthy, hypnotic, trance-inducing blues. I'm still playing this record seven years after buying it. Plenty of great stuff here, including "Work Me" and the three acoustic numbers to close the disc. The guest contributors -- especially Cedric Burnside and Jessie Mae Hemphill -- are outstanding, as well.
Richard Johnston's music makes people dance that do not want to dance. This is a great album, HOWEVER, seeing him live is the ultimate Richard Johnston Experience.
electric, acoustic blues that follow the one golden rule...the song has got to move. this covers a lot of familiar ground but covers it well and most importantly, it rocks.
i have seen richard play on beale street, barefoot stompin on the side walk while a curious crowd gathers round. he makes his own guitars with a neck out of 2 broom sticks and cigar box body. he's bad (read good).... before long hes got everybody dancin and the beat goes on, heads bobbin, ass shakin music! its infectous - gotta give it a try!
