Great Worship
I heard Rita sing live about 7 years ago. I continue to purchase her music as it is as now as it was then. She continues to lead us in worship of our Lord Jesus.
A Great Worship Album
I previously downloaded "All I Have" from Rita Springer and as I said in my review of that album, I enjoy Rita's husky, breathy voice, reminiscent of Nicol Smith, Joy Williams and Rhonda Gunn. While this album isn't quite on par with "All I Have," there are some great tracks here. My favorites are "O God of Mine," "Rain Down," and "My Hero." This time around I noticed some similarities in styles between Rita and Jennifer Knapp (whom I also enjoy) but there are lots of nice unexpected chord progressions to keep things fresh. I'm not a fan of repetitive worship music, but Rita's albums so far haven't followed the standard. Emotional delivery, inspiring lyrics and great instrumentation make this a good choice for any Christian music library. As a side note, I was happy to find the track "Those Were the Days" which departs from the "worship" style and takes me back to my childhood full of animals and innocence.
Great CD!
I really love "I Have To Believe", "You Are Good",and "Captured". Rita has a beautiful voice and annointed lyrics!
