Harpsichord & Oboe

Kriss

Sir Thomas Beecham had obviously not heard this CD when he said: "The sound of a harpsichord [is like] two skeletons copulating on a tin roof in a thunderstorm." The harpsichord is beautifully played by Paul Nicholson and is placed well behind the oboe of Robin Canter giving the recording a light, airy feel. This would be an ideal entry point to Bach's other wonderful chamber works, the short movements allowing one to follow the development of each piece with ease.
