Ron Boots recorded Dreamscape using the MIDI-DIGITAL-MIDI (MDD) system. This system uses computer technology that allows the instruments to be the direct sound source. It eliminates an entire recording phase, as it requires only one final digital master. The result is a cleaner sound. That’s a good thing because this CD is full of pure music that listeners will not want to miss. Boots has been on the cutting edge of the European e-music community for years. On Dreamscape he began developing his technique of combining Berlin school sequences with minimalist atmospheres for a unique hybrid style. This CD was years ahead of its time. It compares favorably to Robert Carty, Paul Ellis, Ian Boddy, and Kees Aerts. Because it is a unique hybrid, it is an essential disc. – Jim Brenholts
