F.U.C. Her

F.U.C. Her was the reason I bought this album back in the day, and I think it's the standout, but there's something both laidback and rockin' on this album. It's been one of my favs for 30 years. I just like the sound of it, a bunch of musicians falling into a groove.

how about a New Barbarians live album?

Sloppy drunk and great, this formed the basis for a crazy 1979 tour with Keith, Ronnie, Stanley Clarke, Ian McLagan and Ziggy Modeleste.

The down side of doing drugs in L.A.

This album should be much better than it is. It was recorded during the Some Girls-Emotional Rescue era, when Wood and Keith Richards guitar interplay was at it's peak. And the guitar interplay between the two is indeed the high point here. Unfortunately, dull songs, horrible production, and vocals that sound like 1st takes sabotage the album. 7 Days is a standout, but the rest is pretty weak. The reverbed, 80's drum sounds are incredibly inappropriate for the material. Wood's first two albums, I've Got My own Album To Do and Now Look, are much, much better.

A muddy, sloppy, brilliant piece of work

Rock-solid album. Stand-outs are 'Buried Alive', 'Come To Realise' & 'Seven Days'. But really, there's not a bad cut here. Stones & Faces fans should definitely give this a listen.

Wood leads a pickup band that includes, on various cuts, fellow Rolling Stones Charlie Watts, Mick Jagger, and Keith Richards, plus Mick Fleetwood, Dave Mason, and other notables. The highlight is a then-unreleased Bob Dylan song called “Seven Days,” where the rough-voiced Wood sounds uncannily like Mr. D himself. – William Ruhlmann
