They Say All Music Guide

In 1995, singer and songwriter Ronnie Freeman accepted a position as a music minister at a church in his home state of Alabama. After serving for a year, Freeman felt God calling him to pursue a career in Christian music. He packed up and moved to Nashville, TN, only to find himself waiting tables, in addition to serving at a couple of churches. However, all of this changed when Freeman came in contact with Dove Award-winning artist Michael W. Smith, who signed him to Rocketown Records. Freeman’s self-titled debut features insightful lyrics, all of which were either written or co-written by the artist. The album opens with upbeat adult contemporary and pop tracks, moving to gentle melodies. Vocally, Freeman offers an uncanny resemblance to Wayne Watson. Songs include “Faith,” “Don’t Give up on Me,” and “Come to the River.” – Ashleigh Kittle
