An excellent performance
It is always a pleasure to hear the Concertgebouw play Mahler. Jansons does a fine job with the 5th here. The Adagietto strikes a compromise between the more flowing "love letter to Alma" tempo in vogue these days and the slower tempos most of us are used to. I prefer the quicker approach myself, but Janson's flexible tempos here really work. Recommended.
