I don't know Reuben Wilson, but Mickey Bass was a Blakey mainstay, and Bill Hardman was not only with Blakey in 3 different decades but is untouchable at any speed (I saw him waste hi-profile trumpet players in many public exchanges). Yet there's so little of him on record that each note is precious. After 1960 he opened up his sound, coming closer to the Clifford-Morgan-Hubbard tone that was in vogue (with help from Van Gelder's enhancements).
