Night and Day from "Medals"
Russ Taff's self titled 1987 release represents alot of what was happening in Christian music in the mid to late 80s. The budgets and marketing had gotten bigger and the powers that be began to see what kind of money there was to be made in the genre. Alot of "formula" albums, of which Taff's 1985 release "Medals" falls into, got made. Not to slight those records, but artists making formula pop has already been driven into the ground in other genres. "Russ Taff" was a departure, maybe because Taff found himself and his soul, maybe because of collaboration with Dave Perkins. The album kicks off with "Shake" and you just KNOW that Russ Taff had been shook, shaken and shuck!
