So Tough made me a lifetime Saint Etienne fan. These recordings are obscure enough that they didn't fit anywhere on radio but the songs are pop. They seemed, even way back then, like they should've been massive in an alternate universe. Great pop album that holds up 18 years after the fact. My 2nd most favorite Saint Etienne album.
