could not be more pleasant, which sounds back-handed but is meant as a genuine compliment.

i've probably listened to this album over 3oo times, and i have to say it only gets better.. sam, you are the man!
I really enjoyed The Sea and Cake for the first 10 years. One of my favorites. How many more of these records can he make? If you're new to this, you may like it, but i'd suggest going back and listening to Nassau.
I wonder how they can call this a similar artist to The Books. Hey, you like Stevie Wonder, perhaps you'll like The Game.
At this point, I just have to assume that I'm going to enjoy any record that involves Sam Prekop, because the man's got his sound down and it doesn't ever actually change all that much. That said, however, there's some variety on this one: the songs are a bit more concise, and there are more instrumentals. But if you've ever liked one of Sam's records before, you'll like this.
