odd and good

JTM--EMUSIC-00C2F3E3

This is atonal noise-pop that ventures into pop sometimes. It takes some effort to get into this. There are some gems of noise and melody within. It requires repeated listening to hear them. It's a very good album because Satisfact always had a target they worked to achieve with each album. If you want Satisfact's best, try the album 3rd Meeting. To hear where the album 3rd Meeting got it's start, listen to this. -J_Tom_Moon_79

They Say All Music Guide

Don’t let the shiny orange packaging fool you. The art work may resemble a band that grew up under the influence of the Pet Shop Boys or Erasure, but this is anything but dance club music. Rather, the sounds of Satisfact resemble more of a disturbed Devo if they were forced to live off Joy Division and Fugazi. In other words, the music is pretty moody in a pleasantly disturbing sort of way. Treated as a side band for Dave Schneider (Lync/Love as Laughter) and Matt Steinke (Mocket), Satisfact continue with their trademark sound of screechy guitar sounds, hypnotic keyboard effects, robotic rhythms and monotone vocals on their second full-length. Suave, laid-back and borderline poppy (but not in the obnoxiously happy sort of way), Satisfact have the ability to accomplish all of this without coming close to boring the listener to death. They even manage to successfully incorporate a theremin on the track “Demonstration” — that alone is worth giving this record a good review. – Mike DaRonco
