if this didn't say "saves the day", would anybody listen to it? that's the hard question to ask any band after their third album.

Their Slowest Warmer

It's taken repeat listenings to get a hang of this album, but I'm finally there. Get the whole album, as the 10:46 opener Daybreak is the true gem of the album. I think more so than their peers, I'm really seeing Saves the Day as an old fashioned album-based rock band. Each of their albums is an entity onto itself, particularly everything since Through Being Cool. All that said, Daybreak is a bit like a stiff pair of jeans, and you have to wear it around a little, but patience is rewarded.
