Warning: The Energy is contagious

I-Mex

The thing about this album, about this group, is that there are some powerful musical elements at work. Not only is Marissa's voice and style of song the antithesis of conventional feminine vocals but she isn't afraid to go from angry to calm back to angry in seconds. Her voice is like an uncontrollable emotion and you feel it through the songs. Not to mention the amazing bass and drum sections that add to these emotional mountains and valleys. The entire album oozes a punk energy that makes you want to either scream along and punch someone, or turn the volume up to an obscene level and just punch-dance on your bed.

Screaming Females: Anachronistic Rock

KingofCansandJars

From heavenisloud.com Marissa Paternoster sings lead and plays a mean guitar. Paternoster’s adorable appearance – no more than 5’1?, a Ringo/Mick moptop, usually wearing a colorful outdated suit dress that belongs to a rotting corpse – is beguiling. She pulls you in only to break your face with bloodcurdling shrieks and silvery metal solos. King Mike rides a bass like a Funk brother, while Jarrett sets the parameters for everything with his perfectly steady rhythms.

It Came From New Jersey

By Brian Raftery, eMusic Contributor

Click for Full-Sized Image In the 40 years since Bruce Springsteen signed his first record deal, the New Jersey native has established himself as the bard of the Garden State — a rep that continues with the release of Wrecking Ball, his 17th studio album.
