Their Best Yet
Shadow Circus really pulls out all the stops on this one. It's even more of the same kind of Emerson Lake and Palmer meets Supertramp theatrical cynicism, hitting some Roger Waters peaks on the prog pretentiometer. Keyboards probably dominate more than before, although the guitar tries to match it, reminiscent of the kings of theatrical prog metal, Haken. Occasionally the vocals get sort of crowded out, but maybe I just need to hear the CD instead of the MP3 or (can I dream?) the surround sound SACD.
