They Say All Music Guide

The debut album from this former group of Vancouver area punk rockers makes the most of a good situation. From the opening riffs and rap rhythms of “Bonecracker,” the duo of Terry Murray and Cory White seems intent on creating a rollicking ride of fraternity-oriented rock. Another high point is the industrial mix seeping through “Rudy,” similar to Nine Inch Nails or fellow rockers Orgy. But the band also has some early heavy metal influences in songs such as “Legendary Camaro.” If there are any weaknesses on the album, they are “My Girlfriend Is the Devil” and “Delila’s,” both of which seem to lose much steam far too early into the numbers. Nonetheless, the album returns to a fun, nonsensical cornerstone that Angus Young could be affiliated with. – Jason MacNeil
