Life In The Loading Bay
What a treat to rediscover these guys. (Loved them back in the OIL AND GOLD and BIG NIGHT MUSIC days.) This album measures up! "Flowers Of Angst" is a particular favorite.

This is a step up on the other recent albums by Shriekback on e-music. Someday, someone will re-release the early work and I can stop having to listen to digitized versions of muffled cassettes. In the meantime, this new work is interesting and moody - always quirky and intelligent, as any Shriekback fan would expect.
Have loved this band since the beginning, and they never disappoint... Always thought they should be listened to in the dark... it filters deeper...
I'm on the second listen and it sounds fantastic. Have loved Shriekback since I was a teenager and their recent albums don't disappoint at all. All the Malicious Damage releases are far superior to their 90s albums. There's a reason they've been around for 30 years - talented and creative songs with wit and intelligence. Try Nothing Nowhere Ever, Another Day Above the Ground, and Pointless Rivers though the whole album is worth downloading immediately.
