Wow

I forgot how good this CD is. They definitely show their influences here, but the songs are well written, the band is tight, and it's got major crunch. Who knew that Pearl Jam mixed with Helmet could sound so good? Best downloads are "Israel's Son," "Pure Massacre" and "Tomorrow."

Tomorrow

I love Tomorrow but have yet to be sold on the whole album. I have listened to the clips but would appreciate hearing the whole song before I let go off my tracks for it. Get "Tomorrow" and walk if you are picky.

They Say All Music Guide

Silverchair’s debut album, Frogstomp, faithfully follows the alternative rock tradition of Nirvana and Pearl Jam, which means that the group of Australian teenagers winds up sounding not like their idols, but like Stone Temple Pilots and Bush. For their age, their instrumental capabilities are quite impressive, as the guitars and vocals growl with the force of rockers in their early 20s. At the same time, their songwriting abilities aren’t as strong, and they are never able to break away from the standard grunge formula. Nevertheless, the record does deliver a collection of songs replicating the thunder of “Tomorrow.” – Stephen Thomas Erlewine
