I reallllly love Simon & Garfunkel, and before this, and couldn't imagine a single disk that could cover enough bases not to be worthless. This one is darn near perfect, including the sound. Early S&G CD releases were hideous, but this was the first of the remasters...all of which sound as great as this one of course....and yes, this one sounds wonderful. While Richie at AMG misses this major point as usual, he's right that Kathy's Song should be here - plenty of room to do it. But every collection like this leaves out at least one major track, usually several...which in this case, is Mrs. Robinson inexplicably not available for download on this release. Sigh. Get it from Amazon, or download it on Bookends...which you really, really need anyway. Regardless, don't let this stop you from downloading such a fine collection as this.

Six Degrees of Person Pitch

By Yancey Strickler, eMusic Contributor

It used to be easier to pretend that an album was its own perfectly self-contained artifact. The great records certainly feel that way. Maybe it's the duo's indelible association with The Graduate - still the perfect summation of post-collegiate meandering - or maybe it's all the ennui lurking in those sweet, achy harmonies, but few vocalists can out-wist Simon and Garfunkel. Although they began as a traditional folk duo, performing expertly cooed covers of English and Celtic folksongs, Paul Simon's legendary songwriting - and a bit of rock 'n 'roll defiance - eventually seeped in, and a slew… more »

They Say All Music Guide

The Best of Simon & Garfunkel supersedes Greatest Hits as the best compilation of the duo, with more tracks (20 compared to Greatest Hits’ 14). Among the new additions are some notable hits: “Hazy Shade of Winter,” “At the Zoo,” “Fakin’ It” (in its “Mono Single Version,” for what that’s worth), “The Dangling Conversation,” and the 1975 reunion “My Little Town.” Includes the A-sides of all 16 S&G singles to make the Billboard charts, as well as three B-sides and one album cut. The only number lost from the Greatest Hits set is “Kathy’s Song.” – Richie Unterberger
