The Panufnik violin concerto deserves inclusion among the top violin concertos of the 20th century. It has had several recordings, including by Yeduhi Menhuin, who commissioned the work. This performance by Robert Kabara and the Sinfonietta Cracovia is very good. Arbor Cosmica is a chamber work for 12 strings in 12 movements, and is recognized as one of his best compositions. This work highlights the late Panufnik style, where larger structures are developed from small musical cells of a few notes. This performance by the Sinfonietta Cracovia compares favorably with composers own issued on Nonesuch.
