An Amazing Debut

I compare this debut to Jane's Addiction's astonishing major label release "Nothing's Shocking". "Gish" may have matched that record in making a loud statement. However, the four enormously successful albums that followed makes "Gish" trump NS by far since. As Skydog7 put it, it's a preview of things to come and is my favorite SP record.

A preview of things to come

Skydog7

Great debut by The Smashing Pumpkins. Billy Corgan calls it an instrumental album with lyrics (hearkening to the obtuse and hard to understand lyrics) but it's the music that truly shines here. I Am One, Siva, and Rhinoceros get all the attention, but Snail is one of the Pumpkins greatest songs. And to think that the killer drums towards the end of the song were done in a single take! Jimmy Chamberlin is a master for sure.

Eleven dollars?

It's $14.99 on iTunes....

Eleven dollars for a download?

Brett1231

That's insane. Don't encourage this. Seven dollars is salty enough for the regular remaster.
