OH YEAH
OH YEAH
OH YEAH
Full of very fine grooves. Deceptively simple but with real depth. You won't be sorry.
The sound of house collapsing into itself. It's not for the faint of heart, but stick with it and be rewarded.
after near-singlehandedly inventing "clicks n cuts", snd has long remained one of the most interesting acts in electronic music, with their nonsensically minimal beats grounded in alternate universe versions of hip-hop, dub & IDM. but after three full lengths for mille plateaux they went on a lengthy hiatus, without any recordings to their name until last year's sought-after but very limited "4,5,6" 3xLP (no longer available for purchase anywhere on the web it seems, so... do what you must). so this is the "real" new full-length from snd: it's harsher, less "dubby" & more "dubsteppy" though frankly, their rhythms remain as bizarre as ever, & they sound particularly primal here (808 handclaps!). if you don't know snd but want to discover one of the most advanced works in experimental electronics with beats, this is it, though it's certainly not their most approachable recording.
