I was a bit worried about picking this up since I've heard they were 'Dismemberment Plan #2'. While I like Dismemberment Plan, I didn't want to hear the same sound over and over. While there is roots showing in their music they also have their own thing going. Worth downloading for sure!
So Many Dynamos are so obviously influenced by the Dismemberment Plan and Les Savy Fav, but I'm finding it hard to hold that against them. While there are some sub-par tracks on this album ("In Our Sleep"), there are several highlights ("Search Party", "In Every Direction", "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" to name a few). The lyrics tend to be a bit too heavy-handed, but I expect great things from these guys. I saw them in Chicago, and they looked like they were all 19 or 20.
