Hang in there.
More to come. They have a new one coming out soon that I think will outshine Broom. Have faith. They've got it in them.

Since Phil and John Robert from Boris let me crash on their couch for a month, I should feel compelled to write a flattering review of Broom. However, they deserve honesty. IN MY OPINION, which I have shared with them before (as well as my guitar that I will never see again), this is pretty bland stuff. With the exception of a couple of songs (esp. the Weezeresque anthem "I am Warm and Powerful"), there's really nothing here that hasn't already been covered by recent (and better) "indie" acts. There's surely something here to please the less-discriminating mama's-boy-pop fans, but I just can't dig it.
This band has created the perfect garage pop album, and it's only up from here. It has the feel of being recorded in your parents' basement, but the songs have an originality uncommon among indie bands nowadays. "Pangea" is the track to start with.
This is the best album Weezer never recorded.
This album is one of the most loveable pieces of music I have ever heard. I'm not quite sure why - I just love it. It's poppy and a little ridiculous, yes, but that makes it all the more endearing. Production wise it has that perfect amount of fuzz and roughness that one would expect from the early 90s indie scene. It's not over-produced, that's for sure. Just check it out and try not to be hooked.
For some reason I subconsciously gravitate towards mellow, melancholic/depressing music, so when I first found "house fire" I felt at home and was digging it, and decided to find the album here... Downloaded the whole thing and you know what? It's actually a pretty upbeat album! I have to say it's one of my current favorites and I'm telling all the people that would appreciate such a band all about them. Definitely worth giving up 10 downloads!!
...this could rank up there as album of 2006 for me, its an absolutely awesome record. lo-fi love songs from the polyvinyl chaps. i'm thinking the beatles-meets-theshins-meets-weezer! if you wanna try out a highlight go for 'pangea' or 'house fire'. this album will not dissapoint!
The biggest export out of Springfield, Missouri since the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, SSLYBY has been pushing this album for well over a year, but it finally hits a broader audience now that it is being pushed by a larger label. "Pangea" is the track to download, but you also might try out "Oregon Girl", which showed up in an episode of Fox's "The O.C." last season.
Great record, but eMusic have the artist name and album name mixed up. The band's name is "Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin" and the album is "Broom". Reported the fault eMusic. Also, see Daytrotter.com for some great studio/live tracks.
