Great Beginings?

isaacmusicman

Despite what everyone thinks, this was not the first album by the Spinners. It was the most relivant though. Teaming with the one and only Thom Bell, and with new, and best lead singer, Phillippe "Soul" Winn, they finally had a sense of style and direction. Loaded with hits(I'll Be Around,Could It Be I'm Falling In Love,One Of A Kind, and Ghetto Child), this album made the group mega-stars! The album in the whole is great too, and not one song should be skipped! Worth the downloads!!!!

A superb album, arguably their finest, though not their biggest, crossover work. The Spinners teamed with Thom Bell and made Motown look stupid with this album of glorious anthems. “I’ll Be Around” and “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” ended any discussions, mentions, or even thoughts of their former lead singer G.C. Cameron, as Phillippe Wynne was emerging as the king of immaculate, sophisticated soul. They had three R&B chart toppers from this album and were now dominating the Motown acts they once idolized. – Ron Wynn
