...and I was really happy to have it. Everything about this bad is exceptional, which makes this album such a joy, this is what 80's pop was/is for me. Musical style, lyrical substance, sax, synths, 9 credits instead of half a paycheck or a used CD, Marry me Emusic.
I used to have this on cassette back in the day. I have tried to find the cd on the internet forever. I finally found a site offering it for $65. I wasn't ready to pay that much for it, so I waited. Then I found eMusic and decided to type Stabilizers in the search field on a whim. The fact that it came up and has the whole album available made my day! There is not a bad track on this album. I recommend to anyone that stumbles on this gem download the entire thing. Thank you eMusic!!
I had almost given up ever finding this album. This is primarily the reason that I subscribed to eMusic, to find stuff that I actually recognize but cannot find elsewhere.
This is such a rare gem! I still have this tape from the 80s, and the CD when it was finally released on CD in 1990. The CD is very collectible, and for good reason. This is one of my all time favorites. If you don't know the Stabilizers yet, I'd describe them as a blend between A-ha and Duran Duran. Generally viewed as a one hit wonder kind of band--it's one of the great mysteries of the 80s that these guys didn't become more popular--the whole album is incredibly great and listenable, but I highly recommend: 5.
