Grappelli for about 20 years now and this one is without a doubt a top choice. The clean, smooth, swinging violin (fiddle?) of Grappelli never sounded sweeter! Backed by a more than capable sidemen (Pizzarelli) this is not just a jewel but a true treasure! If you like sophisticated, you definately like this!

They Say All Music Guide

This is an obscure LP, a duet set featuring violinist Stephane Grappelli and guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli. It thus far has only been put out by the French Ahead label. The music, however, is quite rewarding and not as ballad-oriented as one might expect from the instrumentation. Highlights include “Tangerine,” “Alabamy Bound,” “Have You Met Miss Jones” and “Black Bottom.” Even on songs that he had already played countless times, Grappelli sounds very enthusiastic. Well worth searching for. – Scott Yanow
