Romance In Rio
I am a big fan of Bish dating back to his beginnings in 1976 and his first recording, "Careless." When I purchased this CD from Target a few years ago as a special release, I was so blown away with the new songs and the treatment of the remakes that it became my favorite Stephen Bishop record to play on my iPod. As a life-long Jobim lover, thanks to my dad's 60's record collection, I was drawn to the classical guitar, Brazilian-take on all of the arrangements. The only song that was the Bossa Nova exception is "New York in the Fifties," which is a delightful romp through the decade's pop-culture references through the eyes of a guy who is crazy for a coy, Gotham beauty. I am downloading "I Wanna Feel That Way" as it is not included in the Target set. If you are a true Bish fan, this collection will be a cool, refreshing summer spin!
