one of the greatest

Steve Lukather doing what he does best...again. This album has lots of sounds that will remind you of Toto and some killer guitar. There is no wonder why Lukather is the ultimate "session man" when it is all said and done. This can can play anything and everything. Another great album from this guitar genius. A must listen...

Big fan, but some misinformation

georgemenendez

I am a huge fan of Toto and in particular think Steve Lukather is a great guitarist and singer, BUT there seems to be some misnformation out there on at least one of his achievements. I even saw the statement on Lukather's website and this one. The claim is that he laid down the solo for Beat It. Steve Lukather did NOT play the solo on Michael Jackson's Beat It. That was Eddie Van Halen. Two completely different styles, yet both are amawing to listen to. On the music clips they have online, it sounds like a very good album.

Lukather greatest guitarist known and unkown

paleodom

Everybody has heard of TOTO, what everybody doesnt know is that Steve has played on virtually every album out there (with in reason). Hell, Thriller would not have been even close to as popular would it not have been for Lukather and Paich. Rock on Steve! BTW, the apple (or guitar string) does not fall far from the tree--his son Trevor is sweet to the ears also.

More classic guitar rock from the Luke

Guitarrock

This CD got rave reviews from most magazines and deservedly so. Toto's leader has on offer a kaleidoscope of styles and influences ranging from fusion to jazz and hard rock, all featuring his trademark guitar wizardy, and some great guests as well(how about JWilliams' comeback from the Fahrenheit days). If you like melodic rock you owe it to yourself to download!

Les Paul: American Master (1915-2009)

By Lenny Kaye, eMusic Contributor

--Ed. Note: In honor of the passing of Les Paul, we have decided to rerun Lenny Kaye's wonderfully insightful column on the man. It's the "Guitar Boogie" to end all guitar boogies, with an honor guard of guitarists arrayed behind the benevolently smiling figure of Les Paul, who sits on a raised platform from where he has just finished entertaining a sold-out house at the State Theater in Cleveland and accepting an American Master award from… more »
