Susan is an incredible live performer. I watched her live back in the spring of 2010, and this album reflects the high energy and incredible vocals that I experienced. Angel From Montgomery is an amazing cover.

If you like Susan's rhythm section on her latest, you can also hear Ted Pecchio(bass) & Tyler Greenwell(drums) on "52 - Grasshopper" by Migraine, a free improv collective.

Solid Performance!

rivaeast

She is underrated as a guitar player but with the voice she has it is easy to lose sight of her ability to play! I really like this record. Her version of Angel of Montgomery does John Prine proud!

Good Album but not her best

Another solid album from Susan. The best songs in my opinion are Woodoo Woman, It's hurt so bad, Lost lover blues and I fell in Love.

Lots of Energy

GuitarMan

Love the guitar, love the singing, love the song choices. Nothing repetitive, and lots of energy.

Gorgeous - not a duff track

Oh lordy this lady is soooooo good. Don't you just envy Derek Trucks, her husband! Even though he is brilliant too Susan is on top form on this album. A good mix of covers and originals for everyone to sample and then download. I was watching the DVD that goes with this so pop over to your local store and get that as well.

Reminds me of Bonnie Raitt's early stuff--funky & soulful. Not a 5-star album but a good listen. Check out Gonna Move on Paul Pena's New Train (also available on eMusic; hope they get Pena's House of Blues concert some day!) for the energy of the original version.
