1981 Forever

RobotWar

The first 5 are from their debut EP, which announced TSOL to the world as band that was here to crack skulls. All of these songs arrive supercharged and white-hot, with machine gunned lyrics and amp-destroying guitars. TSOL brought style to punk rock and Jack was the greatest frontman of this era. "Property Is Theft" is not Marxist, it's anarchist, coined by PJ Proudhon and TSOL came to it via a book Barnes was reading. It fit in with TSOL's massive recklessness and their crime-filled lifestyle. By Weathered Statues, TSOL was already flexing other muscles, playing with almost funky textures, a sound that spelled their doom with "Beneath the Shadows," despite its brilliance. This is mandatory listening.

T.S.O.L.

TreActivity

I only have the 'T.S.O.L.' portion of this double EP and I can say it is one of my alltime favorites that never leaves my mp3 player. Jack Grisham's voice is one of the greatest in punk rock like Biafra, Rotten, Rollins and Danzig his voice is one that says "We mean it, maaaann!" Slightly confused politically ('Property is Theft' is quite Marxist and 'Abolish Government' is thoroughly anarchistic)it is still an amazing record!
