Moving on....
With so many Tuareg/Desert blues bands out there now, there was a real danger that they were all going to end up sounding too much like one another. I mean, under the letter T, alone, there's Tamikrest, Tamkilwate, Tarbiyat, Tartit, Terakaft, and the grandpapa, Tinariwen. And that's only some of them. I was beginning to get them all mixed up, soundwise. This new CD from Tamikrest moves things out, expanding the "repertoire" of sound and style. There are some sweet acoustic numbers here, as well as the usual fiesty rocking, clapping and chanting.
